Professional Affiliations                                

Sullivan and Company maintains active professional affiliations on both a local and national level.

Since, 2000, we have been part of CPA Associates International, Inc., a highly selective association of independent accounting firms throughout the world. Known as CPAAI, the association provides members with the capabilities of the largest firm, yet allows each to maintain its local practice while avoiding costly overhead and unnecessary controls.

We frequently consult with members in other regions on behalf of our clients with questions from specific regulatory requirements to overall tax climate to particular industry expertise. CPAAI expands the breadth and scope of our knowledge world-wide.

In addition to CPAAI, we are active members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants where we are part of both the Governmental Audit Quality Center and the Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center. These AICPA memberships require us to meet and maintain the highest standards in our internal and external peer review, our internal systems of quality control and review, and our required amounts of CPE for our entire staff. They help us to stay abreast of the latest pronouncements and changes in the regulatory environment and complement our in-house training and participation in national seminars.

On a local level, we are “100% participation” members of the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants and several individuals are members of the Massachusetts Society of CPAs and active in the Rhode Island Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

We are members of several professional associations critical to our clients’ industries ranging from the Rhode Island Builders Association to the LeadingAge Rhode Island and the Rhode Island Health Care Association to the Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council and the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce.
