David Syner has more than three decades of public accounting experience including roles as managing partner of Syner, Cavallaro & Cabral (prior to the 2006 merger with Sullivan & Company) and as Chief Financial Officer of what is now known as FGX International, Inc. Dave specializes in tax planning for businesses, their principals and families, offering a well-honed view on the changing dynamics and strategies that impact their operations.  

Dave is often called upon to share his experience in private industry, bringing to the table the perspective of a seasoned CFO and his unswerving focus on people and problems, beyond the bottom line. Ultimately, he feels a true spirit of partnership with his clients and personally invested in their outcomes and success.

A graduate of Providence College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics, Dave holds a Master’s degree in Taxation from Bryant University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts.

Among Dave’s many volunteer pursuits and civic affiliations, he currently serves on both the President’s Council and the Finance Committee at Providence College. Over the years, he has been on the Professional Advisory Committee of the Rhode Island Foundation and has also been active in leadership positions at The Lincoln School in Providence, Saint Mark's Church in Cranston, and Providence College’s Alumni Board of Governors where he served as President and received its highest honor, the Mal Brown Award, for his outstanding contributions and dedication. Contact Dave directly at dsyner@SullivanCPA.com.
